While you may be surprised by the addition of salsa to this cake, the flavor will surely delight you!</p><h3>Spice Cake</h3><ul><li>2 Cups All-Purpose Flour</li><li>1 1/3 Cups Sugar</li><li>4 tsp Baking Powder</li><li>1 tsp Baking Soda</li><li>3/4 tsp Cinnamon</li><li>1/2 tsp Ground Cloves</li><li>1/2 tsp Ground Allspice</li><li>1 Cup Maria Rae&#8217;s Salsa-Level 1</li><li>1/2 Cup Shortening</li><li>2 Large Eggs</li><li>1/3 Cup Water</li></ul><h4>INSTRUCTIONS</h4><p>Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 8-inch cake pans. In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients well. Add salsa and shortening; beat for 3 minutes at medium speed. Add eggs and water; beat for another 3 minutes at medium speed. Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake for 28-30 minutes. While cake is baking, prepare icing:</p><h3>Icing</h3><ul><li>4 Cups Powdered Sugar</li><li>8 oz Cream Cheese, Softened</li><li>1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract</li><li>2 Tbsp Butter, Softened</li></ul><h4>INSTRUCTIONS</h4><p>Combing all icing ingredients in a large mixing bowl; beat until creamy.
